The Sculptured Rocks (in French: Les Rochers sculptés the Rotheneuf) are a relatively unknown attraction in France. It is a remarkably large area, close to the sea.
The rocks are human figures, carved as realistic as fairytale. This gives an alienating image, especially with the large faces looking out over the land or the sea.
They are carved over the centuries by various groups, but mainly by nuns and monks.
