The City Museum and Brevik (Brevik Bymuseum) is housed in the old town hall, originally a farm built by the merchant Jørgen Chrystie in 1761.

The City Hall is located on the island Sylte, with the façade to the bay in the warm, spacious harbour of the city. Each year the museum has changing exhibitions summer.

The museum shop has a wide selection of local historical literature, postcards with motifs from ancient sailing ship Brevik and reproductions, in addition to the traditional products with local flavour.

The visit to the museum can also be combined with a walk in the picturesque old Brevik, where a visit can be one of the best preserved wooden towns from the days of sailing ships (the museum provides guidance, price on request), a trip in the beautiful archipelago of Brevik, or a good meal in one of the pleasant restaurants.
