Ringve National Museum is beautifully situated at Lade, overlooking the town and the fjord. The estate dates back to the 1740's. Ringve is the only Norwegian museum specializing in musical instruments from all over the world. The museum consists of two parts: The collections in the main building  - “The Museum in the Manorhouse” - can only be visited with one of the museum guides demonstrating the instruments. Guided tours in Norwegian, English, German or French. A new permanent exhibition opened in 1999 in the former barn - “The Museum in the Barn”. You can enjoy this part on your own. Light and sound guides you through various historic stations such as “the invention of the piano” or “pop and rock”. Traditional instruments from all corners of the world.Visit also the museum shop, the café and the botanical garden surrounding the museum.Getting there: Bus 3 or 4 from Munkegaten to Ringve Museum.
