A unique combination of exuberant wildlife and crystal clear beaches frames the Aguas Claras complex, our boutique hotel located on Playa Chiquita, Puerto Viejo. The hotel is made up of 6 bungalows that house different capacities, along with 6 themed suites (Pavlova Sweets), all designed to deliver the Caribbean experience at its very best. Luxuriously modernized; but keeping its Victorian-Caribbean style, each bungalow is carefully decorated with recycled materials, recreated furniture and found objects. Along with different contributions of artists friends, each space is designed to awaken the senses of its guests and thus, that the natural beauty that surprises them on the outside, is reflected in every decorative detail inside.

In addition to accommodation that redefines the concept of barefoot luxury, our guests will be able to taste the best of local and international cuisine in our restaurant, enjoy an afternoon of calm in the pool, explore our botanical gardens or completely disconnect in Casa Gandhi, our space for yoga and meditation.

The South Caribbean of Costa Rica, with its complex mix of cultures, colors, textures and experiences, never fails to inspire and enchant those who visit it. Elizabeth Steinvorth, renowned watercolourist and current owner and renovator of Aguas Claras and her daughter Elena Rohrmoser, are no exception to this. In the beloved complex of cabins that for many years functioned as a space of tranquility and escape for its visitors, they found the pleasant surprise of an unexpected life project.

This is how in 2017 they began with the architectural intervention in the area, with the aim of creating a new luxurious resort with minimal ecological impact, while carefully respecting the Victorian structure and design of the original bungalows. Elizabeth and Elena, have been in charge of building a space, successfully completed in 2018, in which nature feeds on art and vice versa, where creativity flourishes organically and love for details is felt in every corner.
