About Gardens By The Bay
Gardens by the Bay is a park spread over 101 acres of reclaimed land in the centre of Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. The park consists of three waterfront gardens: Garden Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central Garden Garden.
Gardens by the Bay are an integral part of the strategy of the Singapore government, to transform the city into a city with a garden. The goal is to increase productivity and the quality of life
by improving green and flora in the city.
For the first of the Bay Garden announced to the public by the Prime Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong during the National Day Rally in August 2005. Gardens by the Bay is meant to be. Singapore's largest urban outdoor recreation space By now it has become a national icon.
An international competition for the design of the master plan, held in January 2006, attracted more than 70 entries with 170 companies from 24 countries. Two companies - Grant Associates and Gustafson Porter - were eventually awarded the master plan design for gardens.
