California.

California is located on the west coast of the USA. It is the most versatile state of America: It has mountain ranges with ski resorts, but also deserts, glaciers, forests, hilly areas, lakes and beaches. California has a subtropical climate.

The capital of the state is not, as many people think, Los Angeles, but Sacramento. Along with San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco, Los Angeles is the biggest city in California. Latter place has about 4 million inhabitants, while nearly 37 million people live throughout California.

California has a lot of natural beauty. Some animals and plant species are found nowhere else in the world. The best known species is probably the Sequoia tree. This is the thickest and largest tree in the world. The tallest tree in the park is more than 115 meters long!

Although California has long suffered from deforestation and does not cope well with the natural beauty both by the government, the local population and tourists, one begins today to care more about the flora and fauna. There are a number of parks and other natural attractions in protected areas, and in a number of places investmenst on quality agriculture are done.

If you're in California, you can also choose from a variety of natural beauty collects. For example the Redwood National Park (which also has the Sequoias mentioned earlier) or the Lassen Volcanic National Park. In this park is the still active volcano Lassen Peak present.

If you want to let nature behind you and you want to know why California, specifically Los Angeles, is the place of the modern entertainment industry, you can visit the well-known Disneyland LA, but a visit to Universal Studios and Hollywood is a must. For boaters and beach lovers, there is of course Malibu Beach, but also on Santa Monica and Venice Beach nice relaxing spots are found.

San Francisco is among many more Fisherman's Wharf and Alcatraz found in San Diego and Legoland and Seaworld large and well known.
