Croatia is a Southern European country. It stretches from the eastern slopes of the Alps to the northwestern Pannonian Plain to the banks of the Danube in the east. It is bordered by Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro, and by the Adriatic Sea it is bordered to Italy. The capital is Zagreb and approximately 4.9 million inhabitants populate the country. The country is famous for its numerous national parks and has been voted one of the most beautiful countries in the world by National Geographic.
