Mers-les-bains: travel & holiday
Sheltered at the foot of the highest chalk cliffs in Europe, Mers lies at the mouth of the river Bresle, a natural border between Picardie and Normandy. The Mers seaside quarter is a unique example of the architecture of the Belle Époque. It is said that some of the ironwork on the cosy houses in which stayed writers Jules Verne or Victor Hugo, was the work of Gustave Eiffel, another Mers regular.
