The tractor museum in Horn Bad Meinberg, just across the border, provides an overview of the development of the agricultural vehicle from the Middle Ages to the 60s.

The museum is a great repository for old engines, tractors and other vehicles.

There are about 60 tractors and hundreds of other old farm vehicles. Much has been done to the children to make sense, so it's a family outing is certainly a possibility.
