The Mahabodhi Temple, translated "The Temple of the Great Awakening" is a Buddhist temple in Bodh Gaya, the place where Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, attained enlightenment.
Bodh Gaya is located about 100 km from Patna, in Bihar State, India. Besides the temple, on the western side, is the holy Bodhi tree. The Pali Canon that is presently called Bodhi Manda. The Pali Canon is the only a extant collection of sayings of the Buddha.
The highest tower of the Mahabodhi temple is 55 meters high. The interest since 2002 has risen due to UNESCO World Heritage List.
