This central European landlocked country is bordered by Germany in the north, France in the west, Italy in the south and Austria and Liechtenstein in the East.
Officially, Switzerland does not have a capitol; Bern is the de facto capital. The approximate population is 7.3 million inhabitants. The largest city is Zurich, here the landscapes are less mountainous making the north and central part of the country more densely populated. The greater part of the country is dominated by the Alps in the south and east and in the northwest the Jura mountains dominate the land.
There are 4 official languages in Switzerland, Romansh, German, Italian and French. Amongst other things Switzerland famous for its politically and militarily neutrality, chocolates and watches.
