About Armenia
The Republic of Armenia is in fact situated in Asia, but generally accounted as a European country. It has been independent sinds 1991, formely it was part of the Sovjet Union. It is landlocked by Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran and Turkey. The landscape is mainly mountainous and has quite a number of forests.
Approximatly 3.3 million people inhabit this country, approximaly 1/3 living in the capital Yerevan. Armenia has a rich history, it was the first country to accept Christianity as a state religion in the year 301 as opposed to Rome which adapted Christianity twelve years later.
