Set in the picturesque Essex village of Ramsden Heath, The Fox and Hounds Pub and Restaurant has been serving the villages of Ramsden Heath, Ramsden Bellhouse, Downham, Wickford and Billericay for over 200 years. In 2017 the pub went under a huge refurbishment updating the bar, kitchen and garden but making sure that it kept the village pub feel, atmosphere and welcoming. In 2018 we were rewarded with all our hard work and was nominated as a finalist in the Pub of the Year at the Essex Life Food & Drink Awards.

The menus at The Fox and Hounds Pub and Restaurant has been chosen from a selection of dishes that will suit all tastes.

We offer a daily selection of great fresh food along with our tremendous Sunday lunch.

All our food is purchased fresh every day by our wonderful in house chef which can be enjoyed either in our separate restaurant area or in the bar by our open log fire in the winter or if the sun is shining you can also enjoy your food in our fabulous garden and patio areas. Look out for our specials board in the restaurant. These change everyday and every Friday from lunchtime, we have our fresh delivery of fish direct from Billingsgate market.

The Fox and Hounds Pub and Restaurant is a dog friendly, family run pub serving a wide range of drinks including craft ales, a wide variety of gins, vodkas & whiskeys and a great selection of lagers. We also are the home of Bellhouse Blonde and Bellhouse Brunette which is brewed right here in the village for us! We also offer a wide range of traditional ales on draft along side all your usual favourites and if you’re hungry we have a delicious range of hot bar snacks available during the day.

If you’re celebrating a wedding, birthday, engagement, retirement or any other kind of party where you would like your own private area The Fox and Hounds Pub and Restaurant can cater for your needs. We have many different areas that we can accommodate you that can be privately hired. Depending on your needs we can cater for ranges from 20 people in our lovely bar or patio area through to up to 500 people in our exquisitely decorated marquee.
