About Waterloo Column
This column of over 46 metres on Waterlooplatz commemorates the Hannoverians who fought against Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815. On top stands a gilded statue of Victoria, the goddess of victory. From the surrounding lawn you have a view of the New Town Hall.
