About Lanjarón Castle
The ruins of this 12th-century Moorish fortress stand on a rocky outcrop below the town; the fortress fell to Christian forces in 1500. The way down is steep, so wear sturdy shoes. The nearby Mirador de la Cañona gives a view of both castle and town.
