About Red Dot Design Museum

For design lovers among us, is part of the complex of Zollverein renamed Stadt Design.
There is a large ceramics workshop where work by various designers / artists and where the public is free to take a look at the workshop, there are a number of small galleries and there is including the Red Dot Design Museum.
In this museum, the contemporary design awarded the renowned "Red Dot Design Awards" shown again in the old industrial buildings. So you can find the best design in the field of kitchen and bathroom equipment, in addition to the best lamps and chair designs of the year all presented against a background of kilns, coal conveyors and steel cross connections. A very pretty picture but alienating all this sleek modern design combined with the clumsy mourning industrial environment.
Besides the beautiful museums and buildings, the Zollverein site, so big and there is only outside on the ground so much to offer, it certainly is worth just one or two Uutje attract nice to walk around the grounds of where you will see that over the years, the nature of the steel structures has overgrown, where small industrial ruins verreizen between the refurbished parts of the complex and where nature and industry come together in somewhat strange but nice mix.
A complex where you can easily pull out a week before your visit you will have seen everything.
